The Xbox 360 is the next video games console from Microsoft, it improves greatly on the previous Xbox as it is much more powerful and has lots of other cool features such as wireless control pads, a removable hard drive, removable faceplates so that you can change the appearance of the Xbox 360, progressive scan DVD playback and online play with video messaging. The Xbox 360 has not yet been released in the UK but you can pre order the Xbox 360 online easily, it is a good idea to pre order as there will be huge demand for the Xbox 360 when it is released so it is good to get in the queue. Also most shops will not charge you when you pre order until the Xbox 360 has been released, Amazon are a good example of this so if you are going to pre order it is a good idea to make sure that the shop will not charge you until the Xbox 360 is released. If you pre order early you should get the Xbox 360 delivered on the day of release, most shops will state if this will be possible so be sure to check if you are eager to get your new Xbox 360. The price of the Xbox 360 will be quite expensive though before it is released, this is due to demand and the fact that it is a brand new games console. So if you are looking for a cheap Xbox 360 then it may be better to wait, some shops do offer packages which work out cheaper than buying all of the products separately but finding a cheap Xbox 360 before the release date is very unlikely.

There are two main ways to buy the Xbox 360, you can buy the console on it's own with the basic equipment or you can buy a package, the packages include games and other additional accessories and work out cheaper than buying the products separately The basic Xbox 360 does not come with any games but does come with the equipment that you will need to start playing the Xbox 360 games, if you do buy this package or if you are buying it as a gift for someone else then make sure that you remember there are no games included. This can be especially important when buying the Xbox 360 as a Christmas or birthday gift, an Xbox 360 is not much use without a game to play although it can still be used to watch DVD's so if you are buying the Xbox 360 for a Christmas or birthday gift keep this in mind. Then there are the Xbox 360 packages, these include games and other additional accessories and work out cheaper than buying the products separately, these Xbox 360 packages are great for birthday or Christmas gifts as they offer everything needed to start playing and offer good value.

The most impressive aspect of the Xbox 360 is it's pure power, it has three powerful core processors running at 3.2 GHz which offers incredible power for the most amazing depth and graphics in the Xbox 360 games. Each 3.2 GHz processor can also handle two threads which means that it can do two different tasks at once, this means that game makers have six threads available which offers huge potential as they can assign threads to different tasks meaning that lots more can happen at any one time. The Xbox 360 also has over 512MB or memory and a custom ATI Graphics processor which produces amazing visual effects, all of this basically means that the Xbox 360 is extremely powerful and will offer jaw-dropping visuals and game depth.

The Xbox 360 also has a detachable hard drive, the hard drive is a very important part of the Xbox 360 as it allows information to be stored. There are several uses for this, one is saving game data so that you can return to a game at a later date where you stopped playing. Another very important use of the hard drive is the ability for the Xbox 360 to use the hard drive while playing the games to store large amounts of information, this makes the games play faster and allows game developers to offer much greater depth and detail to the games.

There is one point you have to consider when you look at the specification of the Xbox 360, it is easily as powerful as most PC's that are sold but costs much less, the price of the Xbox 360 is very cheap when you consider the power that is contained inside the box. If you were to buy a PC with a similar spec to that of the Xbox 360 it would cost you many times more, then also remember that it also offers a full DVD player and you realise that the Xbox 360 is indeed very cheap.

The Xbox 360 also offers full Xbox Live support, Xbox Live is the online service from Microsoft that enables game players world wide to play games together and communicate it lots of different ways. Video games are always more fun when played with other people and Xbox live offers thousands of game players world wide at any time so you can compete in competitions and tournaments as often as you like. The Xbox Live service on the Xbox 360 also offers some new features such as video chat, for this you will need an Xbox 360 video camera and it offers up whole new opportunities online. Xbox Live require s subscription that is paid yearly to access the Xbox Live service, it does not cost too much though and is well worth the money if you like to play games online.

The Xbox 360 also offers a full DVD player so that the Xbox 360 can be used to play DVD films, you need a special remote control to use the DVD player and this is included in most Xbox 360 packages but if the DVD player is important to you then make sure that you check that the remote control is present in the package that you plan to buy. The DVD player also features progressive scan technology which offers better stability and precision, this means that the Xbox 360 DVD player offers great quality DVD playback that is as good as most DVD players that can be purchased from electronics shops.

Another cool feature of the Xbox 360 is the wireless control pads, these allow you to use the control pads from anywhere in the room and mean that there will be no annoying cables strewn across the floor. The wireless control pads also offer 40 hours of play time before they need charging, when they do need charging you can use a Play & Charge wire which connects to the Xbox 360 console and charges the control pad while you are playing. The new Xbox 360 wireless control pads also offer the ability to use the headset for Xbox live wirelessly as the headset plugs into the control pad, all of this offers excellent freedom while playing your Xbox 360 games.

The other main new feature of the Xbox 360 are the removable faceplates, these faceplates allow you to change the appearance of the Xbox 360 to suit your tastes or room decor (in much the same way that mobiles phones often have removable covers). The faceplates are highly versatile and come in many styles and colours, there will also be limited edition faceplates released over time to match big game releases and other events.

So the Xbox 360 is a very impressive video games console, it offers immense power and lots of cool features such as a removable hard drive, wireless control pads, a DVD player, removable faceplates, Xbox Live support and much more, the best thing about the Xbox 360 is the power though as the games are simply stunning in their graphics and depth. If you are looking for a cheap Xbox 360 then it is best to have a good shop around, many of the online shops have cheap special offers and deals so a cheap Xbox 360 can be found. You can also save money by buying one of the Xbox 360 packages, these include games as well as the Xbox 360 console and work out cheaper than buying the products separately so the packages are a good cheap deal.
